Plan Rule Definition
This is a detail view of a single plan rule. Plan rules can match many different kinds of data and can permit the creation of peak/off-peak periods, prepaid plans and many other features.
Of note is the ability to apply specific “features” to connections when a plan rule is encountered during a connection. These features can be used to automatically implement a walled-garden or shaping during particular events - such as a lack of prepaid quota, or overuse of an on-peak allowance.
The rules-based nature of Smile’s plans and the integration of billing and access control makes it very easy to specify and create new service types, with complex behaviours, without the need to write software.
